Marcus D. Lawson

Marcus D. Lawson began his distinguished legal career serving as a military lawyer in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps. During his service, he was stationed at the U.S. Naval Legal Service Office Pacific (NLSOPAC) in Yokosuka, Japan, the strategic home of the U.S. Seventh Fleet. As an active-duty Navy attorney, Mr. Lawson handled numerous court-martial cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies, including acting as second chair in two capital murder trials, one involving the misappropriation of classified materials related to North Korea. He also led the NLSOPAC claims department, which oversaw claims across mainland Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Diego Garcia, and much of the Indian Ocean up to the North Arabian Sea. For his exemplary service, Mr. Lawson was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal.

Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Lawson transitioned to private practice, focusing on legal malpractice defense, banking, real estate, and commercial litigation, primarily in Los Angeles, USA. He has defended high-stakes malpractice cases including complex arbitrations over partnership disputes and multi-district litigation such as a Boeing 747 airplane crash case in Guam. Among his notable trial victories, Mr. Lawson secured a unanimous $1.9 million jury verdict representing Alcoa, Inc. Currently, Mr. Lawson dedicates his practice exclusively to class action litigation involving wage and hour claims, consumer fraud, and unfair business practices on behalf of consumers and employees.

Now, as a senior attorney at Juris Bridge Lawfirm based in Rome, Italy, with additional offices in New York City, USA, Mr. Lawson specializes in helping clients with inheritance law, estate planning, and cross-border legal issues. His deep expertise assists individuals and families in securing their legacies and navigating the complexities of international inheritance law.

Mr. Lawson holds a B.A. in Economics from UCLA and earned his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law. During law school, he served as Articles Editor of the Southwestern Journal of International Law and completed externships at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, California Attorney General’s Office (Writs, Trials & Appeals), and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

He is a proud member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an elite group of U.S. trial attorneys who have secured verdicts or settlements exceeding one million dollars. Additionally, Mr. Lawson serves on the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Armed Forces Committee, supporting pro bono legal services for veterans through the Veterans Legal Services Project in partnership with U.S. VETS.

Mr. Lawson is admitted to practice law in all California state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the United States Supreme Court.
